It Might Be "Casual Friday" But I'm Wearing a Tuxedo...Shirt!

Happy Friday fellow Bloggers!

Thank you all for the super-sweet comments yesterday! I always love when you all talk to me on here...I guess it keeps me from feeling like I'm talking to myself...which is generally frowned upon in this culture...

My CLE course went really well yesterday. It literally lasted ALL day. It was a nice break though and I enjoyed getting to interact with different people and to have a change of pace for the day too :) Actually, I have a little more training today. This morning I will be completing "new employee" training...I am still not quite sure what that entails...

I am also really excited that it's FRIDAY! :::cheers::: I am so happy the weekend is here even though I don't really have a clue what I'm going to do. I am super-tempted to begin decorating for Christmas, but I'm pretty sure it's still considered "too early" by a majority of people.

In fact, I imagine that there might even be some ridiculous Condo-imposed rule about having decorations out when it is outside the season for it. And...well I'm not 100% sure that November can really be counted as "Christmas Season" - particularly since we have a whole holiday left that we have yet to celebrate (hello Thanksgiving).

Don't get me wrong. We are not the kind of people that hang Christmas lights up and then never take them down - just to be gawked at in mid-July when it's hot as ___ out and it appears that we are in the holiday "spirit" when in fact we might have just gotten into the "spirits" (booze) ...

I just get really excited about Christmas and cannot wait to put up all the fun decorations that always accompany that time of year! Hubby is really into it too :) We have a whole Christmas village (complete with animated little elves that ice skate around a pond!) Ice Skate! I have only been ice skating once in my life and it was here at an indoor rink here in Florida. Totally doesn't count. I love to watch those little elves skate around the pretend-frozen "pond" in our village and secretly envy them for their amazing skating skills... They have skills too. One even skates on one foot! ONE!

The point is that I'm ready for Christmas to be here - and I'm ready for everyone (including our condo association) to know about it... I just have a feeling that it's not going to happen this weekend...we'll see though :::grins:::

In the interim, here is my Daily Fashion Post:
Shirt: ATL
Jeans: Citizen of Humanity
Shoes: J.Crew
Headband: J.Crew
This shirt is the ATL. I scored it while I was on my pre-work shopping trip :) It was on sale for $25 :) I love the tuxedo look of it!
Doesn't it remind you of a version that J.Crew had last season? I think it was the "Victoria Ruffle Shirt" - It's a little different, but has the same vibe :)
I love pieces that have "boyish qualities" to them, but are still feminine. For instance, this shirt is clearly inspired by a man's dress shirt, but it has a feminine cut, petite pleats, and darts. You don't see real mens shirts sporting those kind of details!
My jeans are my old-school Citizens. I haven't bought a pair of "designer jeans" since I discovered J.Crew's several years ago. Since then I have been hooked on the Crew. You all have heard about my current obsession with their toothpick fit! I just find that they fit great so there is no need for me to go out and pay $$$$ for the designer ones. This is the last of the Mohegans - so to speak.
It's rather difficult to jump in heels...just so you know. I literally risk life and limb for your amusement :)
Here is the back view.
I am sporting my new favorite headband again. I just love it so much! I also thought it was beyond appropriate to wear my tuxedo bow headband with my tuxedo shirt!
Here is a close up of the mini pleats :)
I love how they stick up and go around the back of the neck! It's like having a popped collar that doesn't make you look like a total douche-bag - see here.
Mini pleats!
I am also sporting the Juliet Patent Leather Mid Heels in the leopard print :) I love these and have recently been really into them!
So pretty :)

DON'T GO AWAY YET - Hubby and I have been having an ongoing debate about the legit-ness of the movie "Rocky" - he argues that it is the most amazing, breathe-taking, chest-bumping...move ever. He claims that it is "classic" and that I am not cultured because I haven't :::gasp::: seen "the best movie ever" ... (he was not amused when I said that I had indeed seen Legally Blonde).
-
I, on the other hand, do not feel like I should have to watch it. It looks stupid. I watched 4 mins of it before passing out of severe boredom and lack of understanding (...what the hell is he saying...I literally cannot understand the words coming out of your mouth?!?).

So to appease my Husband I am taking a poll. Please participate! It's on the sidebar of my blog!

My Cheeky Bow Sweater Turns the Other Cheek!

Happy Thursday fellow Bloggers!

Today I am attending a CLE (Continuing Legal Education) class for work today. I am actually rather excited about it because it will be something different to do and will also knock an item off of my "to-do list!" I am still not 100% sure of all the requirements for CLE in Florida (...with me being a newly-minted lawyer and all...), but I do know that I need a substantial amount of hours...and today I'll be getting a chunk of them done! :::high fives self::: Go me.

Besides that, nothing too much else is new. I have been working on my Christmas list :) I love Christmas and I'm so excited - it is almost the season for it! Where did the time go?

I have been asked what I want for Christmas from Hubby and family, and to be honest...I never know. (weird right??? how could I not know what I want for Christmas...don't I want, like, everything?!?!) I am super-particular...and to add to it, I'm an impulse buyer. An impulse buyer?? Yes. As in, I don't know what I want until I see it and then I'm all like: I want, I want, I want, I need, I neeeeeed it nooooowwwww.... and in the words of Chloe :::makes grabby hands:::

I practically fall all over myself when I see something I want (read: NEEEEEED!) I get all pumped up, my pulse races, I think I might even drool on myself (although I have yet to have an out-of-body-experience so I can't comment on whether or not there was in fact drool...) The point? I usually don't know what I want until I see it. That's why advertising works so well on me. Damn you advertisers with your clever sales pitches!!! :::shakes fist:::

I swear, if it weren't for Hubby physically retraining me while I watched late-night TV infomercials we would have Snuggies (with free book light gift!!), a ShamWow, SlapChop, Kaboom, Huggable Hangers (...but in all seriousness I really want those...but I need like the 1 million pack for all the crap I have in my closet...) Hubby has to hide my phone while I whine in the other room about how we need that shaving pad thing that "buffs away your hair" without a razor - you know because I have hair...and I need it gone...Why do you want me to be a hairy she-wolf?!! You are so unfair! :::sobs:::

Basically, I totally respond to products...but not until I see them. So how is a girl like me supposed to make a Christmas list yet? I don't know. I guess it's time to do some online "browsing!" :::drools::: This is a good start. What is on your Christmas/Holiday list?

Speaking of things that totally caught my attention the second I saw them - here is my Daily Fashion Post which features my bow sweater (I totally made grabby hands at this baby!)
Sweater: F21
Trousers: J.Crew
Shoes: Bandolino
Headband: J.Crew
I love this sweater - I had to have it the second I saw it. Bow. Check. Girly Puff Sleeves. Check. Dirt Cheap Price. Check. er...Debit!
I initially fell in love with this type of cheeky graphic print sweater when Kate Spade came out with her version here. Too bad it's only $225. It's too steep of a price for me! Happily, I found this version from F21's "twist" collection. I couldn't find it online, but it was still available in stores last time I checked! Betsey Johnson is also famous for her graphic printed sweaters and dresses. She has a lipstick print one here - still pricey at $228.
A bow. In motion.
I'm "tying it" here. har har.
I also have to admit that I love the retro striping detail on the sleeves and bottom :)
My trousers are J.Crew. They are technically part of their wool suiting (but I just purchased the pants!)
Look at that bow peeking around the corner :)
I also added some bling in my hair with the J.Crew bejeweled headband!
Here is a close up of the print. It looks like it is from MarioWorld, no?

The Houndstooth Trend...and I'm Not Even an Alabama Fan!

Happy Wednesday fellow Bloggers!

Today I am sporting a classic winter print: Houndstooth. It comes in many styles and shapes. Most famously - in small black and white "checkers." As of lately, houndstooth has been stretched, altered, re-colored, and re-done for this Fall. I have seen it in MAJORLY LARGE sizes and WACKY colors!

Glamour Magazine talks about the trend here. I am taking part in this trend for sure. Will you? Or are you just an Alabama fan that is now confused why so many fashion houses are suddenly "fans???"

I am wearing my own "oversized" houndstooth printed dress! Here is my Daily Fashion Post: Go Go Gadget Houndstooth! :::jumps:::
Dress: Target
Cardi: J.Crew
Shoes: Bandolino
Tights: Betsey Johnson
Belt: Betsey Johnson
Headband: J.Crew
This dress is from several years ago actually...who knew it would be so "on trend" this Fall!?!? I scouted around and found out that Target is again offering an oversized print dress this year too! You can find that here. I love the new version a lot - very pretty!
This dress has cute capped sleeves (with puffy shoulders!), but since it was rather chilly today I covered up with a Jackie Cardi from J.Crew!
I love that the print is rather large - you can see what it is from a distance :) It's cheeky - and I love cheeky!
Walk'n it out :)
I love wearing tights :) I think they are the ultimate problem-solver for wearing skirts and dresses come Fall/Winter (at least here they are!)
I think I have some extra energy this morning...what's with me?!? Haha.
Here is the back view :)
Arial shot - you can see the headband in this photo (...as well as Charlotte's dog bowls below!)
This is J.Crew's Tuxedo Bow Headband...I'm loving it :)
I love the big collar on this dress! I can also button it up into a turtleneck...but I wasn't really feeling that today...
My bow belt... I'm sure you all are sick to death of seeing this belt...but I can't help it!
I wore my mary janes today :) These are SO comfortable and I love the demure look of a mary jane ... the patent leather spices them up a little!
A rather low heel = fast walking today :) ...and that's exactly what I need to do! Time for work!

Jewels Are Not Just for Rings - I Wear Mine as a Blouse!

Happy Tuesday fellow Bloggers!

I am sporting some jewel-toned goodies today! I love jeweled tones, and you redheads out there should like them too! I think jewel tones are universally flattering, but for redheads they are a must! I think my favorite "jewel tone" is purple, but today I am sporting green!

Do you all have a color that you love to wear?

Here is my Daily Fashion Post:
Blouse: Banana Republic
Trousers: Banana Republic
Shoes: Coach
Belt: ?
I love these trousers. These are actually part of a suit! I love wool trousers...there is something so "liquid" about how they move. I tried a "walking shot" in this photo to really capture that movement that I like :)
The blouse has cute little "puff" sleeves. I think it's nice when pieces have a feminine touch like this :)
The side view :)
The back-end of a twirl! I have some major hair-action happening here...haha
Back view.
Arial view...Hubby helped with this one!
Notice how the blouse has some nice pleating detail at the neck and front...I love subtle detailing!
I made a bow :)
My shoes. I scored these from DSW awhile back. I love the gold hardware on the toe - and I like that they have both gray and black in their print :)
They're a sling-back!
I hope you all are having a great week so far!

Plaid-tastic Monday!

Happy Monday fellow Bloggers!

I hope you all had a super-fun weekend :) Hubby and I had a great one. We relaxed, we watched college football (Noles won!), we went out with friends, and we watched a couple of fun movies at home!

I have to say that I'm sad the week is here already...but hopefully this will be a pleasant and productive week. Plus, Thanksgiving is just around the corner! I love the Holidays!

So without further chit chat (...I do have to get to work after all!), here is my Daily Fashion Post:
Blouse: Banana Republic
Skirt: Banana Republic
Shoes: Cole Haan
Tights: Betsey Johnson
Necklace: J.Crew
I've been in a very plaid mood lately! Between sporting plaid pants last week here and here. I have also been eyeballing several NEW plaid pieces that are out right now - I think everyone has the plaid fever! :) I personally am eyeballing this, this, and this. Such badness :)
I scored this blouse on my pre-work shopping trip...it was on sale and it was plaid. Sold.
I love the ruffles on it! It's so girlie...not "lumberjack-y" Plus, I like that it's not the traditional red plaid (which is very pretty) so it seems more versatile for Fall/Winter...not just Christmas season!
It's still rather chilly here so I opted for some black tights :)
Look! Pockets :)
The back view :)
Here is the ruffle detailing on my blouse as well as a shot of my J.Crew necklace. It is the Crystal Tassel Ribbon Necklace. It also came in pink, which I think has since gone on sale. I really like this necklace! I've actually been treating it as a "neck tie" - I think it is a nice girlish way to do a tie!
It has very pretty sparkle-clad tassels! I have really been enjoying it. I think this is a fun piece to pair with holiday looks as well ... I'm already conjuring up ideas with what else I can pair it with!
So blingy!
Here are my shoes. These are Cole Haan with the Nike Air Technology. It's really the ONLY way a pair of 4" heels can be comfortable :) And they are!
I love their penny loafer design paired with the patent leather :)
-
Well it's Monday - let's welcome the week! I hope you all have a fabbie one! :)
